Prepares analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles
Essential Job Duties
- Provides appropriate level of supervision and guidance for 2 staff accountants, and reviews some of their work
- Performs GL month-end close tasks, journal entries, margin and expense analysis of assigned profit centers
- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and clears reconciling items in a timely manner
- Ensures that appropriate controls and compliance processes are followed
- Makes recommendations for process improvements and automation opportunities
- Assists in the timely preparation of schedules and other information required by external auditors
- Contributes to any special projects and performs additional duties as assigned by management
- Other duties as assigned
Skill/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant license preferred
- Multi-location experience is preferred, large and/or public company is strongly preferred
- Inspired to serve internal customers, including Regional Managers and VPs of Operations
- General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), balance sheet and income statement methods, internal controls, and other areas related to financial reporting requirements
- Proven ability to systematically enhance processes and drive improvements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Workday GL or other large ERP systems is a plus
- Energetic, quick-learner who is driven to produce a high quality product
- Ability to analyze, research and solve problems
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with many points of contact and all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs, as we are rapidly growing
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments and management levels within the company
- Skilled in organization, prioritization, time-management and attention to detail
- Displays high levels of emotional intelligence, maturity, and professionalism
