CSCS TXThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span across one or more functional areas. Will manage resources, schedules, and financials throughout the project's life cycle. This includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
The Senior Project Manager will run the project on a day-to-day basis, make sure that the project produces the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time and cost, and achieve the desired results.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Manage the full project life-cycle by developing comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, resources, and budgets.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Planning: In partnership with the other HR PMs, facilitate the Human Resources annual planning meeting to ensure that the projects are prioritized and tracked.
- Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain clear communication with clients, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership, providing regular progress reports and managing expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategic mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
- Budget and Schedule Management: Monitor project financials and timelines, and implement changes to ensure projects remain within scope, on schedule, and under budget.
- Quality Assurance: Set and maintain high-quality standards for project deliverables, conduct regular quality checks, and ensure compliance with best practices. Ensures after action reviews are conducted and lessons learned cascaded.
- Governance: Lead the monthly project management steering committee ensuring project reports are updated and critical risks mitigated.
- Community of Practices: Work with Results Delivery Office and other project managers to build consistent tools and project management approaches.
- Consulting: Teach other stakeholders the key principles and tool needed to successfully manage a smaller project.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Five to seven years of proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with project management software and tools, including Agile framework.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complexity and changing project demands.
- Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks, blockers, success measures, and estimated resources needed.
- Problem Solving: Employing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address issues and obstacles as they arise.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders and team members actively soliciting and addressing customer and project team feedback.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align projects with the organization's strategic objectives.
