Responsible for assisting in the department administration of employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, and leave of absence and for providing analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefits programs to employees
Essential Job Duties
- Maintains and compiles reports of new employees for enrollment and orientation of benefits.
- Updates status changes and reviews enrollments for completion.
- Compiles and modifies various weekly and monthly reports
- Maintains vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
- Maintain and audit benefit reports and feeds for all plans.
- Provides vendors appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefits claims.
- Issues annual individual summary of benefits to employees.
- Prepares reports from 3rd party vendors
- Processes monthly accounting invoices
- Provide monthly reports on billing and claims
- Acts as liaison for outside 3rd party activities
- Prepare all mailings and annual reports
- Assists with the month and year end auditing of all benefit plans
- Provides assistance with communications to employees
- Respond to and comply with state and federals agencies regarding employee related benefit matters to include Medical Support Orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill/Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 4 years in benefits or related benefits administration
- Experience with Word, Excel, ADP Payroll, Workday and with any health and benefit related database programs
- Knowledge of Company policies/procedures & benefit package
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Effective communication skills, oral & written
- Strong organizational skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations
- Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
- Ability to speak Spanish helpful, but not necessary
