Position Overview 

The Sr. Manager, CAG Training is responsible for leading the full CAG training organization, including direct oversight of the Operations Training Manager, TAP Program Lead, R&D Lead, Glass Field Trainers, and Changing Lanes Instructors. This role executes the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of all training programs that support CAG technicians, field operations leaders, and specialty programs including Changing Lanes and TAP. 

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Learning & Development, this role translates organizational strategy into executable training programs, manages a multi-function team of training professionals across field and virtual environments, and serves as the primary training leader for the CAG business line. The Sr. Manager ensures all programs are consistent, scalable, and aligned with CAG operational standards and Caliber's broader L&D direction. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Team Leadership & People Management 

  • Directly manage and develop a team of training professionals including the CAG Operations Training Manager, TAP Program Lead, R&D Lead, Glass Field Trainers, and Changing Lanes Instructors. 

  • Set clear performance standards, development goals, and accountability measures for all direct reports; conduct regular performance reviews and coaching conversations. 

  • Build team capacity by identifying skill gaps within the training organization and implementing targeted development plans. 

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and high-quality program delivery across the CAG training team. 

Program Ownership & Curriculum Oversight 

  • Execute on the full portfolio of CAG training programs, including technician onboarding, operations leader development, TAP (Technician Apprenticeship Program), Changing Lanes military transition program, and R&D field support. 

  • Ensure all curriculum is current, standardized, and aligned with CAG operational guidelines, AGSC standards, ADAS calibration requirements, and Caliber quality benchmarks. 

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of facilitator guides, workbooks, virtual modules, and field-based training materials across all program tracks. 

  • Establish and enforce quality control standards for content delivery and trainer performance across live, virtual, and field environments. 

Stakeholder Management & Field Alignment 

  • Serve as the primary training point of contact for CAG field operations, including RVP’s, Regional Managers, General Managers, and Assistant Managers, ensuring training initiatives are operationally relevant and field-ready. 

  • Partner with CAG Operations leadership to identify performance gaps, prioritize training needs, and deploy timely solutions that support business outcomes. 

  • Coordinate with the Changing Lanes program leadership and college/military affiliates to ensure compliance with program reporting, student progression standards, and Skills Bridge requirements. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Protech, Fleet, and other Caliber training leaders to share best practices and align enterprise-wide L&D standards. 

Strategy Execution & Measurement 

  • Translate Sr. Director priorities and CAG business objectives into actionable training plans with defined timelines, resource requirements, and success metrics. 

  • Track and report on program effectiveness, trainer performance, and learner outcomes; use data to drive continuous improvement decisions and present findings to senior leadership. 

  • Manage training logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation across a geographically distributed team with significant field travel requirements. 

  • Identify and lead special projects that advance CAG training capability, operational readiness, or technology adoption. 

 

Qualifications 

Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in training, learning & development, or field operations, with at least 3 years in a people management or program leadership role. 

  • Prior experience managing a team of trainers or training professionals required. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Auto Glass industry required; deep working knowledge of glass installation, ADAS calibration, field operations, and industry standards (AGRSS, AGSC) is essential to effectively support CAG operational partners and leadership. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-function training programs across dispersed, field-based teams. 

  • Experience working with specialty programs such as apprenticeship, military transition, or technician advancement programs a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Working knowledge of Auto Glass operations, ADAS calibration standards, and AGRSS/I-CAR requirements; industry certifications (AGSC, Adhesive, I-CAR) preferred. 

  • Familiarity with Omega Software, Autel Scan Tools, and standard MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 

  • Strong people leadership skills with proven ability to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable for performance standards. 

  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation – with the ability to influence across all organizational levels. 

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities across multiple programs and stakeholders. 

  • Data-driven mindset with experience tracking training metrics and translating results into actionable recommendations. 

Requirements 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 

  • Valid driver’s license required; must be eligible for coverage under company insurance policy and able to pass MVR check. 

  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a criminal background check. 

  • Ability to travel up to 30–40% to support field training operations, team oversight, and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs independently; ability to work in shop or mobile environments as needed.
