Job Summary
Prepares analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles

Essential Job Duties

  • Provides appropriate level of supervision and guidance for 2 staff accountants, and reviews some of their work
  • Performs GL month-end close tasks, journal entries, margin and expense analysis of assigned profit centers
  • Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and clears reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Ensures that appropriate controls and compliance processes are followed
  • Makes recommendations for process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Assists in the timely preparation of schedules and other information required by external auditors
  • Contributes to any special projects and performs additional duties as assigned by management
  • Other duties as assigned

Skill/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant license preferred
  • Multi-location experience is preferred, large and/or public company is strongly preferred
  • Inspired to serve internal customers, including Regional Managers and VPs of Operations
  • General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), balance sheet and income statement methods, internal controls, and other areas related to financial reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to systematically enhance processes and drive improvements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Workday GL or other large ERP systems is a plus
  • Energetic, quick-learner who is driven to produce a high quality product
  • Ability to analyze, research and solve problems
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with many points of contact and all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs, as we are rapidly growing
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all departments and management levels within the company
  • Skilled in organization, prioritization, time-management and attention to detail
  • Displays high levels of emotional intelligence, maturity, and professionalism
  • Ability to receive and respond to performance feedback effectively
  • Creates a productive, collaborative work environment by developing a common vision and setting clear objectives
