Oversees Workday system configuration, maintenance, and optimization to support HR functions by acting as a subject matter expert, managing projects, and ensuring data integrity. Key responsibilities include leading system enhancements, developing advanced reports and dashboards, providing end-to-end system support, managing system upgrades, and collaborating with stakeholders to align HRIS solutions with business goals.

This role requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise in Workday modules (such as HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, or Time & Attendance), excellent communication, and a proven ability to manage large-scale projects and complex issues within the Workday platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Leadership: Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Workday, providing technical and functional guidance to HR teams and users.
  • Consultant: Provide consulting supporting multiple modules, including Recruiting, Performance, Learning, and others as needed. Provide guidance on system capabilities and best practices.
  • Configuration and Maintenance: Design, configure, manage and maintain Workday system configurations, ensuring they align with business needs and best practices for various HR modules.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage Workday-related projects, including implementations, upgrades, and system rollouts, overseeing timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions, process improvements, and policy changes within the Workday system to improve efficiency and HR services.
  • Process Execution: Partner with the HR centralized operations team to monitor and support ongoing process execution, ensuring alignment with business needs and operational efficiency.
  • End-User Support: Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and educate system users on Workday functionalities to enhance system adoption and usage.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, vendors, and other HR departments to address cross-functional impacts and resolve system issues.
  • Testing: Test, validate, and implement system changes and enhancements to ensure optimal functionality and user experience. Responsibilities include documentation, configuration and testing support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with Workday updates, enhancements, and industry trends. Proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Optimization: Direct the recommendation, implementation, and optimization of Workday functionality, including system configuration, project planning, and issue resolution. Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure success.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to payroll users, ensuring they are proficient in using the Workday system. Address any user queries and troubleshoot system-related issues.
  • SME: Act as the key point of contact for Workday system administration and optimization, aligning team efforts with broader organizational goals. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in HR systems and provide strategic guidance in the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of HR system

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in an HRIS analyst role, with a strong focus on Workday system administration, configuration, and support.
  • Workday Expertise: Deep understanding and experience in 2 or more Workday modules, such as Core HCM, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits, or Talent Management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday reporting, integrations, and data management tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify trends, and resolve complex issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with various levels of leadership and stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Customer Service: A strong customer service orientation and the ability to maintain professional demeanor when assisting users.
